Mr Andrew Williams is a Consultant in Podiatric Medicine & Surgery and Musculoskeletal Scientist.

He was previously Head of Podiatry and Podiatric Surgery at the Countess of Chester Hospital and gained a visiting Research Fellowship within Orthopaedic and Accident Surgery at Liverpool University. He also held a substantive NHS appointment as a Consultant within the Foot and Ankle Unit at Liverpool and Aintree University Hospitals.

Over the last thirty years Mr Williams has mentored numbers of health care professionals including medical and allied health clinicians and performed a whole range of surgical and non-surgical interventions. His interests include diagnostic ultrasound, Plantar fasciitis, minimally invasive procedures, and a novel percutaneous procedure using Cryosurgery for Morton’s neuroma. This involves a minimally invasive procedure approach utilising Argon gas and Mr Williams was the first clinician to introduce this to the NHS. He has also proctored other clinicians in the UK and Europe.

Mr Williams has completed audits on his outcomes and was lead investigator into platelet rich plasma, tendon disorders and Percutaneous Cryoablation Of Mortons Neuroma. Mr Williams was recently appointed Chair of Ethics & Consultant Committee for his professional body and has attended meetings with key stakeholders including the HCPC, NICE and Royal Colleges. He has also recently been appointed as a regional mentor for his Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow where he is a fellow.
Mr Williams has also lectured on the MCH Orthopaedics’ Program at University of Liverpool and is an invited lecturer at national and international scientific meetings to include Israel, Japan and Lithuania.

After 34 years in the NHS, Mr Williams now focuses on his Private Practice and medicolegal work.
