Yes, absolutely there are things that can cause your PSA result to be higher than normal levels.
For every 100 men with a raised PSA level, 85 do not have prostate cancer.
Some of the common causes for elevated PSA include age, prostatitis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and urinary tract infections. Having a medical procedure, recent ejaculation, prostate stimulation or recent vigorous exercise can increase PSA levels.
