Do I need a GP referral to see a private ENT consultant?▼
No. Enigma Healthcare is self-referral friendly, so you can book a consultation with one of our ENT consultants directly. If you already have a referral letter or previous notes, they’re welcome but not required.
How much does a private ENT consultation cost?▼
An ENT consultation starts from £250. We accept both health insurance and self-pay patients, and you’ll receive clear pricing for any further tests or treatment before you go ahead.
How quickly can I be seen?▼
There are no long waiting lists. Appointments with our ENT consultants are typically available within days, rather than the months you might wait on the NHS.
Which ENT consultant should I see for my symptoms?▼
It depends on what’s bothering you. Miss Munir specialises in ear, balance and skull base conditions; Mr Tandon in head, neck and thyroid problems; and Mr Anwar in facial plastics and skin lesion removal. If you’re not sure, just get in touch and we’ll point you to the right specialist.
What should I look for when choosing a private ENT consultant?▼
Look for GMC specialist registration and a consultant who sub-specialises in your particular concern, rather than general ENT alone. All three of our consultants hold Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons and focus on distinct areas of ENT, so you’re matched with sub-specialist expertise rather than a generalist.
What does an ENT specialist actually treat?▼
An ENT specialist — also called an otolaryngologist or otorhinolaryngologist — diagnoses and treats conditions of the ear, nose, throat, head and neck, from routine issues like ear wax and sinusitis to complex conditions such as thyroid lumps, balance disorders and skull base surgery.
What is a laryngologist, and do you have one?▼
A laryngologist is an ENT sub-specialist focused on the voice, swallowing and airway. Mr Tandon, our Consultant ENT Surgeon, specialises in exactly this area alongside head, neck and thyroid conditions.
What ENT operations and procedures do you offer?▼
Our consultants carry out a range of procedures, including tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, grommets, septoplasty, balloon sinuplasty, thyroid and salivary gland surgery, middle ear and skull base surgery, and removal of facial lumps and skin lesions.
Is Enigma Healthcare an ENT walk-in or emergency clinic?▼
No — we’re a consultant-led private clinic working by appointment, not a walk-in or emergency service. The advantage is no waiting list, so appointments are typically available within days rather than months.
Do you treat children for ENT appointments?▼
For ENT appointments, we currently only see patients aged 18 and over.
