A Mole Check is a focused clinical assessment of a specific mole, lump, bump or skin lesion you’re already concerned about. It’s different from Whole Body Mole Mapping, which creates a long-term photographic baseline of your entire skin for future comparison rather than assessing an existing worry.

At your appointment, one of our Consultant Dermatologists or experienced skin specialist GPs examines the area — usually with dermoscopic (magnified) imaging — and gives you a clear clinical opinion at the same visit.

Every Mole Check ends with a clear recommendation. Depending on what we find, this is usually one of three things:

If a mole, lump, bump, skin tag, cyst or lipoma would benefit from removal, we’ll talk you through the options.
