Lump, bump & mole removal

If you have a mole, skin lesion, lump or other skin lesion that is causing concern, it’s important to have it assessed by an experienced healthcare professional. Early assessment can help determine whether further investigation or treatment is required and provide reassurance where appropriate.

Where a lesion is confirmed to be benign, removal may be recommended for comfort, aesthetic or cosmetic reasons — particularly if it is located in an area prone to rubbing or discomfort, such as the neck, underarms, groin or other skin folds.

Dermatology FAQs

Do I need a GP referral to see a private dermatologist?
No. You can book directly with Enigma Healthcare, online or by phone, without a GP referral.
How quickly can I be seen?
Most patients are seen within 2 days. Evening and fortnightly Saturday appointments are also available to fit around work and family life.
What happens at a dermatology appointment?
Your consultant will discuss your concerns and history, examine the affected skin, and explain the diagnosis and options. Where appropriate this may include diagnostic tests, a biopsy, a minor procedure, or a treatment plan — and we write to your NHS GP afterwards.
Can you remove moles, cysts, lipomas and skin tags?
Yes. We offer minor surgery to remove benign skin lesions including moles, cysts, lipomas and skin tags. Any removed tissue can be sent for histology where clinically appropriate.
What should I do if I’m worried a mole might be skin cancer?
If a mole is changing rapidly, bleeding, itching or otherwise concerning, book a dermatology consultation so it can be assessed promptly. If it’s general skin surveillance you’re after, our Whole Body Mole Mapping service may be more suitable.
Do you accept private medical insurance?
We welcome self-funding patients and work with most major health insurers. Please contact our team to check your cover before booking.
Where is your dermatology clinic?
We’re at 2 Portal Business Park, Eaton Lane, Tarporley, Cheshire, CW6 9DL, with free on-site parking. We welcome patients from across Cheshire, Chester, Warrington, Northwich, Nantwich, Crewe and Stoke-on-Trent.
